Merry Christmas from VP Flea

We want to wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. We are well aware that in the midst of festivities and lights and music that everyday challenges can come crashing in, and are even intensified when lived amid the backdrop of a celebration. Pain is real, whether it's from the death of a loved one, a broken relationship, financial hardship, or illness.

In our home, we were recently preparing for guests and Diana had cleaned our house in preparation. All was going well until **crash**-- down comes our Christmas tree right in the middle of our living room. Ornaments everywhere. Guests arriving soon. A tree laying sideways for all to see. Can you feel the stress building?

I was able to upright the heavy tree. Three of the four legs were still strong, so we leaned the tree against the wall. We rehung the ornaments and fluffed the tinsel. If I hadn't told you you might not even know. Broken things can be redeemed.

Which brings me to the message of Christmas. There is hope -- an expectant waiting for something that is certainly going to be, and it will be glorious and good. "I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."

Jesus was born to save us. To rescue us from all that keeps us from a personal relationship with God. To give pupose to both the joyous things and to the hard things in life.

Wishing you a joyous Christmas,
